Our Universal Studios Hollywood annual pass expired in December and we were eventually going to renew it. We kept putting it off but then GUESS WHAT. I woke up Valentine's Day and found out the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Hollywood was open for soft opening! WHAT?!!!!? I've been to Orlando's Harry Potter World twice and have been waiting and waiting and waiting for Hollywood's. So I contacted Chris, Jocelyn, Eric, and Steven and immediately bought passes! AHHH!!!!! It was going to be their first time!
I immediately felt like I was back in Orlando the minute I stepped into Hogsmeade. Everything was just so similar! California barely has any land though so obviously, Hollywood didn't have all the rides that Orlando has. They still had the entrance to Orlando's ride, Dragon Challenge and they had a picture spot where Hogwarts Express should be. BUT EVERYTHING ELSE WAS SO IDENTICAL. I freaked.
Everybody fell in love with butterbeer. We all got it twice. YUUUMMM. We rode the Forbidden Journey twice... although Jocelyn wasn't very fond of that ride due to the spiders... a ton of spiders. Poor Jocelyn, we forced her to ride it TWICE. The second time was enough for her. We didn't ride the Flight of the Hippogriff for some reason? Daniel and I went back on Leap Day and rode it though! Short and simple - just like I remembered.
